VeraBank Awards Scholarships to East Texas Students

Henderson (May 4, 2022) – VeraBank is pleased to award five $2,500 scholarships to students whose parents are employed at the bank. The recipients of the 2022 scholarships include:
- Morgan Clayton, Ellison High School
- Rance Ellis, Henderson High School
- Katelynn Pitts, Carthage High School
- Streit Smith, UT Tyler University Academy at Longview
- Mary Margaret Tipps, Henderson High School

Since the inception of the VeraBank scholarship program in 2017, the bank has awarded $75,000 in scholarships to 30 recipients. The scholarship recipients, all of whom are children of VeraBank employees, are selected by a committee each year and the identity of each applicant remains anonymous throughout the selection process. Selections are based on the students’ merit, academic performance, content and completeness of replies and application, as well as school and community involvement.
