VeraBank Awards $12,500 in Scholarships to Children of Employees

Henderson, TX – VeraBank is proud to announce the awarding of five $2,500 scholarships to outstanding students whose parents are employed at the bank. Recipients of the 2025 scholarships include:

• Makenna Barnett of White Oak
• Kara Dobbs of Henderson
• Gracie Purifoy of Hallsville
• Christian Ruszkiewicz of Copperas Cove
• Aspen Woodall of Kilgore

Since the inception of the VeraBank Scholarship Program in 2017, the bank has awarded $100,000 in scholarships to 45 recipients, reinforcing its commitment to investing in education and supporting the families of its employees.

Each year, scholarship recipients are selected through a blind review process, ensuring fairness and integrity. A dedicated committee evaluates applicants based on merit, academic performance, content and completeness of replies and application, as well as school and community involvement. By maintaining anonymity throughout the selection process, VeraBank ensures that awards are granted solely on achievement and dedication.
